Farewell Fairfield

That's right, Fairfield got steamrolled today. It was a pin fest and a throw fest. Matches won by pin included Devin P., Austin J., Connor D.,
Jaedon F., Matt W., Matt T., Tanner H., Colby M. & Doug S. Lawson E also had a techfall and that only because he miscalculated how far ahead he was! I think that the coaches must have been going over throws last week because the other team got a lot of air time today. Although there were a lot of calls, most of them looked really good to me. But hey, what do I know, I'm just a "fan"atic. Well, it was a lot of fun to watch. Definitely the cheapest/best entertainment in town. As a reminder, there is no match on Thursday. Our next one is on March 3rd against Sunset at Sunset. See you there.

It has come to my attention that some (maybe many) of you had problems download/viewing the files that I put up from the N. Layton match. This time I have uploaded the files as wmv files as opposed to mpg files in hopes that these will play nicer with the embedded Window's Media Player that seems to be used on the badango file sharing site. I would really appreciate it if you could let me know how these work for you. If you have a Google account, you can reply directly to this post. If you don't have a Google account, you can create one easily. If you don't want to create an account, you can e-mail me by clicking on the link to the right at the bottom of the green rectangle where it says "View my complete profile". That will take you to a new page and on the left it says Contact with a link that says Email. If you click on the Email link, it will allow you to e-mail me directly with any comments that you may have. I want to make sure that it is working well for everyone. There is no sense putting them on the net if you can't see them :).

This year I will be tracking the team stats as well. Following is a link to the Excel file that I will be using. I will update it after every match as well.

I tried to send an email to your linked email address:
trojan@tripointcommunity.com,
but got a "delivery failure notice"... should that address have worked? Let me know if it needs to be a different address, and I'll try again.
Thanks!

Maury, thanks for catching that. I had updated my account to use my new e-mail address but forgot (didn't realize I needed) to do it for my profile. The correct e-mail should be there now which is troy@tjcrew.com. Glad the wmv files worked for you, although you got the mpg files working as well :). Hopefully someone else out there will post a success as well.

Thanks for the updated email.

Those WMVs do play beautifully... even on Grandma and Grandpa's machine up in Logan:) Thanks for the change. I hope it's not too much hassle to convert them to that format, but Badongo's player does seem to be much happier with it.

Thanks again for all your time getting this put together... HUGE SERVICE! We appreciate it.

P.S.
Just in case others are also trying to figure out how to download the files from Badongo, it IS possible, it's just a multi-step process that's a bit obscure.

Here's what works for me - perhaps others might find it useful as well:
1) From the webpage playing the video clip you want to download, click the "Download File" button near the top-right of the page (light blue button w/green down-arrow),
2) A new page comes up... Wait for a moment for a "Captcha Code Box" (scrambled-letter box) to appear near the top-right of the new page,
3) Enter the scrambled text in the box and click "Download Your File Here" just below the box,
4) A new page comes up... Scroll down to the bottom of the page where you'll see "Please Wait" and a count-down timer is counting down (at this step, sometimes an advertisement comes up... just click "Skip This Ad" in the top-right corner of the page to get to the Count-down Timer),
5) Once the count-down timer gets to zero, it will display, "Download Your File Here" in a light-blue box w/a green down arrow... Click this box and your "Download Dialog Box" will finally appear giving you the option to "Open" or "Save" the file. Click "Save" and browse to the location to which you want to save the file (i.e. Desktop) and click "Save" again. Voila! The file is now finally yours, stored locally on your hard drive.
Note: Apparently, upgrading to "Premium" on Badongo is supposed to enable you to skip the Captcha Code Box, Advertisement, and Count-down Timer before downloading your file... Don't know - didn't try it. I don't mind the hoops. (Hey, they're an ad-supported site... they do what they gotta do!)

Maury, thanks for your additional comments. I have found the Badongo has changed the way that they do business between this season and last season. It makes things much more difficult. I'm actively looking for another option without so many annoying adds. Hopefully I can find something that will still give us the storage space that we need w/o the pain of those obnoxious adds.
